Angelo Lollo, 94, of Oakville, passed on to heaven at home surrounded by his family on October 2, 2016. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by family and friends.

Angelo is survived by his wife Anna of 62 years, sons Mauro (Gabriella) and Joe (Lara), grandchildren Jessica, Andrea, Eric and Savannah, brothers Gerardo and Enrico and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is pre-deceased by his son, Bruno (2014), and sisters Maria and Benedetta.

Angelo was a kind and gentle man, who was seldom stressed, making him a friend to all and the pride of his family. With a little grin, he was known to enjoy the simple things in life - a meal with family and friends, working his garden, and making wine (and enjoying a glass or two). In the early years, he and the family would picnic every weekend to favorite destinations, attending many festivals and visiting relatives throughout the USA. He was blessed with a long, healthy life and could be seen riding his bicycle around town, visiting friends into his ’90’s along with sitting on the veranda of his home with Anna, watching the world go by.

Angelo immigrated to Canada in 1952 from Alvito, Italy, establishing his family in Oakville and working in the construction trade for 35+ years. As part of the early Italian community in Halton, he was known for lending a helping hand to many.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 4, 6-8pm and Wednesday, October 5, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Oakview Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, October 6, 11:00am. Following Mass, Angelo will be laid to rest at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens in Oakville.
