<div itemprop="description"><br />LIPSIT, Ernest Cameron <br />April 21, 1925 - July 14, 2015 <br /> <br /> <br />Peacefully, at home in Oakville at 90 years of age, surrounded by family on July 14th. <br /> <br />Devoted husband of Marilyn Jane (n&eacute;e Shute), loving father of Bill (Janice McCann), Margot (Michel Mouret), Jamie (Kim Reilly) and David; grandfather of Jessica Mouret (Donn Muirhead), Alexandre Mouret (Alexandra Lacko), Christopher Lipsit, Andrew Lipsit and their mother (Julia Cornish); great-grandfather of Clara Louise Mouret; uncle of Steven Lipsit (Cindy) and great uncle of Billy. Pre-deceased by his brother Don and his nephews Doug and Mark. <br /> <br />Born in Stratford, Ontario, he spent his early boyhood in Saskatchewan before graduating from Stratford Collegiate, McMaster University (BA) and the University of Toronto (MA). He spent most of his career with A.E. Ames &amp; Co becoming President in 1973 and Chairman in 1974. He retired as Vice Chairman, Dominion Securities Ames. He was always actively involved in charitable and community activities, in particular, as a Director of the West Park Hospital, OISE and the YMCA. Cameron loved his sheep farm, Kilannan, at Leith, Ontario, where he, Marilyn and the children spent many happy years before moving to Oakville. Cameron's final years were marked by deteriorating health but through it all he remained engaged with his family and the world around him. He will be greatly missed by all. <br /> <br />Cremation has taken place.
