<div itemprop="description">Peacefully passed away at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Wednesday April 27, 2016 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Walter. Beloved mother of Ian (Rita) MacGregor and stepmother of Terry. Cherished nanny of Ashley and Oma of Christine (Aaron) and Joel. Great grandmother of Ethan. Pre-deceased by her sister Alice and her brother Richard. Ellen will be greatly missed by her many friends and family near and far. Ellen lived a full life witnessing historic events and bonding special relationships with many lives that she touched. Her love for caring was evident in her nursing career and in the way she lived her life. She started her nursing career in England at the Liverpool University Hospital where she later taught. She enhanced her career through midwifery where she engaged herself in helping the less fortunate living in the coal mining villages of rural England. She continued her nursing career in Toronto and Oakville, specializing in labor and delivery. A heartfelt thanks to all the great staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital who made every effort for her. Special Thanks to Dr. Corine Breen for her care and support. Ellen was a very special person who will remain alive in our hearts. Family will receive friends at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville (1 block east of Kerr St.) on Wednesday May 4th from 4 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
