<div itemprop="description">BELL, Dr. Malcolm Charles Evert of Oakville passed away on September 24 at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. <br /> Malcolm was born in Noranda, PQ January 31st, 1939 and was the beloved son of Archibald and Dorathea Bell (nee Evert). He married Michelle Lettner on July 14, 1962 and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. He is pre-deceased by wife Michelle and his sister Jane. Malcolm is survived by his brother Sandy, his sister Margaret and three children Cameron (Marsha), Kelly (Tom) and Michaela and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Stephanie, Mackenzie, Katy, Cameron, Benjamin and Miranda. <br /> Malcolm attended Port Credit High School where he was an accomplished athlete. Malcolm went on to attend the University of Toronto where he received his BASc, MASc and PhD (1964) in Metallurgical Engineering. While at U of T Malcolm continued his athletic pursuits including football and fencing. Malcolm and his brother Sandy played on the 1958 U of T Senior Varsity Football team that went undefeated. After completing a post-doctorate at the London School of Mines, Malcolm joined INCO in 1965. He held positions of increasing responsibility including Manager of Process Technology-Ontario Division, Director of the J.R. Gordon Research Laboratory, Vice President of Smelting and Refining-Ontario Division. Malcolm retired in 1996 in the role of Vice President of Technology-Inco Limited. During his time at Inco, Malcolm authored numerous patents. <br /> Malcolm had many hobbies including oil painting, gardening, science fiction writing, photography, and lapidary. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a voracious reader. Malcolm found great enjoyment spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends at his cottage on Georgian Bay and his ski chalet in the Laurentians. During his later years Malcolm had a passion for cruises that were often enjoyed by the extended family. <br />In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. <br /> A visitation will be held on Friday October 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, followed by a service on Saturday October 3rd from 12-1 PM at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road W. in Oakville. An interment will follow at St. Jude&rsquo;s Cemetery <br /></div>
