Our hearts are filled with sadness, love and beautiful memories as we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Vernon Hunter on August 27th after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in the quiet town of Lucknow, Ontario, Bob always had much bigger plans for himself. He was a creative visionary and a natural-born entrepreneur. With a few bumps along the way, he built a successful career in construction and real estate development residing in the USA, Saudi Arabia and England before returning to Canada in the early 80s (Oakville). He retired/relocated to Vancouver with his wife and youngest daughter in 2002. He was an avid tennis player, golfer, skier and sailor. He had a keen eye and a passion for architecture and interior design.

Part of the legacy that Bob leaves behind is the development and restoration of several significant residential and commercial buildings. Most notable in Canada are The Annex Building (132-134 Trafalgar Road, Oakville); Forsythe Street Townhouses (81-93 Forsythe Street, Oakville); and The Murray House (75 Navy Street, Oakville). He also managed projects in Florida and the Middle East.

He is fondly remembered by his beloved wife Karleen, three daughters: Lisa (Javier), Charlotte (Rathan) and Taylor (Dylan), three grandchildren: Vera, Ambar and Kiran, sister Joanne (Forbes), brother Murray (Patricia) and sister-in-law, Sandy. Predeceased by parents Vernon Hunter and Anna May Treleaven, and brother Gregory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s honour to Vancouver Hospice Society and InspireHealth Integrative Cancer Care.

InspireHealth Integrative Cancer Care: https://payment.csfm.com/donations/healing/index.php
Vancouver Hospice Society: https://www.canadahelps.org/dn/15213

https://vimeo.com/143751580 (you are welcome to view this video clip from Vancouver Celebration of Life, Sept 27, 2015)

* BOB'S FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR THOUGHTFUL SHARING OF MEMORIES.
