Ron was adored for his sense of humour, his passion for jazz, and his love of family.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Ron trained as a draughtsman, but felt his future lay across the ocean. After moving to Canada, Ron pursued a career in finance. For the next four decades, he was a successful stockbroker and investment counselor. As a brokerage manager, he was a mentor to countless employees and colleagues. His mentorship continued well into his retirement years.

Ron’s greatest pride and joy was his family. His heartbroken family is better for his presence in their lives. Mourning Ron’s loss are Liz, his wife of 51 years, daughters Laura (Brian) and Karen (Pat), and grandsons Colin and Ewan.

Cremation has taken place. A private event to celebrate Ron’s life and honour his memory will be held. There will be wine!

In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of kindness or tell a good joke in remembrance of Ron.

An honest man here lies at rest
As e’er God with his image blest;
The friend of man, the friend of truth,
The friend of age, and guide of youth:
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
Few heads with knowledge so informed:
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
If there is none, he made the best of this.
--Robert Burns--
