<div itemprop="description">Peter van Kessel <br>October 29, 1925 – September 28, 2016 <br> <br> <br> <br>Peter passed away peacefully at The Brant Centre, Burlington Ontario on the evening of September 28, 2016 in his 91st year. He joins his wife Inge of 62 years who predeceased him on May 24, 2012. <br> <br>Born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Peter immigrated to Canada in 1951 after surviving the European conflict and serving as an officer in the Dutch army. In Canada he found work in the construction industry initially in Northern Ontario eventually settling in the Mississauga and Oakville area. <br> <br>Peter built a successful career in his profession of choice and provided well for his family. He travelled with Inge extensively in their later years. They especially enjoyed a number of cruises in different parts of the world as well as trips to Europe to explore. <br> <br>Peter leaves 5 surviving children Jack, Peter, Marilyn, Linda and Wendy. His son Robert predeceased him and Inge in May of 2012. “Opa” will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. <br> <br>A service will be held on October 12 at 1PM to celebrate Peter’s life at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville, Ontario beginning at 1PM followed by a short reception. Interment will follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville. <br> <br>Condolences may be made at www.arbormemorial.ca <br>Donation in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation <br></div>
